Law of attraction

Law of attraction

We all have heard stories of how someone achieved something seemingly impossible — almost magicall— or someone rose from rags to riches. We often end up concluding that these achievements had something to do with ‘good luck’. However, whenever you hear these success stories or stories of how someone did the unthinkable, it is because they had undaunting belief in themselves and what they could achieve. They did not question their way, and that is what the Law of Attraction is all about.

It is about attracting things you desire in your life. Whatever you think about most of the time, you will attract it into your life. You must be thinking that it’s crazy. ‘I have been thinking and fantasising about so many things but never got them, so how is this possible?’ Ever heard about the law of gravity? It works every time, irrespective of whether you believe in it or not —drop an apple, and it will always, always gravitate towards the Earth. The Law of Attraction works in more or less the same way. It’s working all the time, whether you believe in it or not.

How to use the Law of Attraction?
To understand the Law of Attraction, we need to first understand our mind — both the conscious and subconscious. First, let’s begin with talking about multitasking. Our conscious mind can think of only one thought at a time. Say you are working on something, and all of a sudden, you switch to another task; here you break your consciousness as your mind cannot concentrate on two things or tasks at once. Now, even if you switch back to your previous work, you get conscious about that. You are physically multitasking but mentally breaking your consciousness, again and again, to concentrate on just one thing at a time. Our subconscious mind is like a wardrobe; whatever we have lived in our life, whatever we have done, it stores everything.

If you are always saying that I can never do this or that I can never do that, believe me, you won’t be able to. If you keep saying I am poor, I am ruining my life; you will continue to mess up your life and stay poor. By doing this, you are just feeding your subconscious mind with negative thoughts, and it always thinks you are poor and, in essence, you are ruining your life.

The way we think creates a feeling in our body, those feelings further affect our behaviour, and hence the results. This is how thoughts become things. This is how what you think becomes a reality. For instance — if you are sitting in a car and have turned on the FM radio station, then your stereo is going to play the FM only and not the AM. Similarly, if you are always thinking negatively, feeding negative statements to your subconsciousness, and tuning in to a negative frequency, then how can you expect to get positive results and have a happy life?

You can never have a mindset where you think that money is the root of all evil, or that money is hard to come by, and then expect that you will want to or, for that matter, even be wealthy. If you constantly think that everybody is a cheater, you’ll only meet people who cheat and lie throughout their lives. However, an important thing to note is that you haven’t met the other side of the world with better people yet, but neither are you going to if you continue to make such a narrow statement. You can possibly meet just about 1 or 2 % of the world’s total population in a lifetime, and even that is stretching the numbers. Of that percentage, you will only be attracting those people in your life who will reflect what you have been thinking about or feeding your subconsciousness.

If you tell yourself that you cannot learn certain answers or a certain subject is completely out of your grasp, you will end up learning nothing. If you say I hate Maths, I don’t understand this formula or equation; you are never going to understand Maths. Similarly, if you keep saying that I am going into depression or that I am feeling depressed, then, oh! my dear friend… you are pushing yourself into depression. So, ask yourself, how can you attract good things?

The easiest way to attract good things, the things you desire the most in your life, is by first changing your thoughts and setting an intention. We have already established that we attract the things we feed our subconsciousness or think about the most. So, the important thing to do here would be to change what is in your subconscious mind — remove the negatives and embrace the positives. If you think negatively or poorly, you will only attract them into your life. Think positive, think wealthy, and you will attract that in your life. These kinds of positive statements are also known as affirmations.

Affirmations are, without any doubt, one of the most powerful tools to train your subconscious mind. You can create any new positive belief or replace any limiting one with an empowering one to make your life worth living and the best version of itself. The things you think and visualise, you can put them in writings too. Through these affirmations, you can easily get all your desires in life — just say that I can do anything or that I am getting better day by day, and you will realise that there are no limits to what you can do, and you will get better.

While affirming, don’t forget to put your emotions in it, or you’ll just waste your time. Remember, it’s the thoughts that trigger your feelings, then it’s your affected behaviour, and, lastly, results. This way, you are manifesting your dreams. Use your thoughts wisely for they are more powerful than you give them credit for.
