What is the new Moon?

A new Moon is the lunar phase that occurs when the Moon is positioned between the Sun and the Earth. In this phase, the side of the Moon that is facing the Earth is not illuminated by sunlight and hence, on the day of the new Moon, the Moon is not visible from Earth. Let’s find out how we leverage the energies of this phase and practice some new Moon rituals to manifest our dreams.

The energy of the new Moon is believed to be really potent and is a kind of energetic doorway for manifesting your dreams and making them real.  It is believed that it provides a unique opportunity to set intentions and manifest your goals.

New Moon rituals which you can follow to manifest your dreams:

1.      Cleansing:

Cleansing is very important as it cleans all the negative/unwanted energy with or around you before you start your sacred rituals. You can take a moon bath with salt, lavender or any essential oil and clean the space where you will do your rituals.

2.      Gratitude

Before setting your intentions, be grateful for what you have done, learned, and achieved in the last Moon cycle. Write down everything with a grateful heart. After you are done writing, close your eyes and say ‘thank you’ thrice to the universe for everything.

3.      Release:

It’s important to empty the cup before filling it. So, you can write down all the things you want to remove from your life, all the grudges you have been holding, fears, negativity, jealousy, and resentment on the paper with a black pen (preferably) and burn that paper with the below affirmations:

a) Today I release all the worries from my body and mind
b) Today, I release what no longer serves any purpose to me
c) Today, I release all the attachments I have with people who are no longer in my life
d) Today I release all the unwanted thoughts from my mind which are taking up space
e) Today, I release all resentment and feelings of jealousy
f) Today, I release all the uneasiness from my body
g) Today, I release all the grudges and fears from my mind

Finally, finish this step by saying “my mind is now calm, my body is now relaxed, and I am at peace.” Repeat these affirmations and let the ashes of all these feelings go away with the air.

4.      Manifest

Open your eyes and set your intentions with all that energy around you and inside you. With a red pen write down all the dreams and goals you want to fulfil in the next three months and also write the reason why you want to achieve them. Be realistic with what you are writing. Make it as specific as you can. Also, writing is one part but taking action is what completes that part. So don’t forget to take action even if it is small.

5.      Visualise:

Create an image of the dream or goal you just mentioned on the paper as if it’s happening. It’s very important to have a clear picture in your mind. If it’s not clear yet, do this visualisation daily until it becomes clear and you are able to feel the joy of fulfilment of your goal. Furthermore, stay calm and focused and you will get a vivid image, as needed. Once you see it, make it big, bright, and colourful. You are all set, once this image is set in your mind.

Abundance cheque

The energies of the new Moon tend to make people feel excited and motivated. Another thing you can do is to write a new Moon abundance cheque. It is a way of creating financial abundance in your life.

Here is the traditional manner of writing a new Moon abundance cheque that must be followed: If you do not have a savings account, you can draw a cheque on a piece of paper and fill it out in the same way or you can download and print a blank copy. The result will be the same either way — abundance.

How to write the Cheque:
  1. Within 24 hrs after a new Moon, take a cheque, where it says “pay to”, write in your name
  2. In the little box on the same line where you would fill in an amount, write “Paid in Full.” This opens you to unlimited abundance
  3. On the line underneath your name, where you would write the amount in words, write “Paid in Full.” The universe knows what is due.
  4. Sign the check: “The Law of Abundance.

Do not put a date or a specific amount on the cheque. Put it in a safe place and forget about it. The universe will take it from there. To truly benefit from the power of these cheques, get in the habit of writing them routinely — preferably every month. Write them with full expectation of receiving abundance! This method of writing the cheque gives your subconscious mind and higher self the freedom to bring you exactly the right level of abundance, in the best way, in the perfect amount that you are ready to receive.

Moon water

You can create Moon water by leaving water outdoors to charge under the moonlight. Since the Moon affects the ocean’s tides, there’s already an energetic connection between the elements of water and the Moon.

To create Moon water, you’ll need:
  1. A jar or container (I recommend a mason jar or other clear jar, but any jar, glass, or even Tupperware will do)
  2. Water from a tap or bottle. Make sure it’s safe to drink
  3. Speak your intentions to your water with full emotions
  4. Say ‘thank you’ three times in a row after you speak about your intentions
  5. Keep it under the moonlight. However, if you feel like there is no Moon visible from your house then keep it near the window. Since moonlight is everywhere whether the Moon is visible or not
