Postcards from around the world during COVID-19

Last year, travel was restricted for the most part of the year due to the pandemic. However, my desire to explore the world led to a new self-discovery. While physically I was confined, I found a way to interact with people from across the world through postcards. It all started when a friend of mine shared a postcard from Italy where she had gone as an exchange student. I thought that it would be more meaningful if the postcard wasn’t empty. So, I asked her to write something on it and mail it to me. Little did I know that I would start collecting postcards and stamps from thereon. At first, it was my friends and I who exchanged postcards but then I discovered a platform called Postcrossing where strangers from all over the world write messages and exchange greetings. It is a great way to connect with other people and learn more about their culture, language, and the interesting stories they want to share. Here are some of the postcards that I received in the last few months from different continents.
